Banter question:

heading up to ride the blue ridge parkway Thursday to celebrate the big 50.   i have a jeep but 1) its not big enough for the whole family and 2) we'd be beat up by the time we got there.  So does anyone know of a place maybe in Asheville that rents 4 door jeeps?  that seems like it would be an awesome way to enjoy the parkway.   I've googled but have not had any luck finding anything.

I will be monitoring temps, wind speed, cloud cover, humidity, sun angle, and leaf color and will provide a full report on my return (just trying to keep it wx related).

Thanks,

Tim

We're headed up to the west side of the Smoky's (just NE of Gatlinburg) for the weekend. Hoping to get lots of good fall shots while we're there.

That's a good question... I haven't ever seen a place that rents them like I have seen in Gatlinburg.  It seems to be more popular there.  What I did find were Jeep tours.  Not sure if you are interested in this but it would satisfy what you are looking for.  You wouldn't be able to take it on the parkway though.  You could also call a few local rental places like Enterprise or Avis.  I bet one of the local ones has a jeep that you could rent for a day.  Sadly that may be your only option.  Hope you enjoy your trip the leaves are just beginning to show a hint of color in downtown Asheville, but the upper elevations are going to be perfect for your visit.

It was good. Went to Late Night with Roy at UNC. The basketball team looks stacked this season. I can't wait for basketball to begin, because Carolina's football team is awful. They might be able to beat State for one more win.

Glad you had a good bday, dude. You guys will definitely beat us in football this year.

I read it on the Internet, so it must be true.

Solak,

I know you also posted in the winter thread. Also, Falls also had posted it there. I replied with my answer there in case you still haven't seen it and are interested in my reply.
