I've begun the rather overwhelming process of building a house.

It's going to have heated floors and idgaf if it costs me my life savings.

We installed the pex tubing and hardwood floor over it this spring in our living room using a sandwich installation.  We are having a high efficiency boiler installed this week which will include tying in the hydronic radiant heat.  Looking forward to some cooler weather to see how well it works.

We are planning on installing radiant under the rest of the first floor with staple up configuration next year.  Expensive (and time consuming) to retro-fit, so it is much better to install it up front.

My parents are having theirs removed right now in their downstairs bedroom. They absolutely hate it. I don't know much about it, but I think it was installed in a strange way. There were truckloads of sand in the floor surrounding all of the piping. It's been really time consuming and expensive to switch it over to nat gas like the rest of the house.

We left the baseboard hot water radiators in place, just in case...

if that happens in NOV.. Worries increase dramatically. That's when the stuff like "it's only NOV" "relax" start coming out. And comparisons to other years with warm NOV and good winters come out .Nothing more infuriating than that

Sometimes Novembers flip mid to late month. I know what to look for regarding disasters so you'll know.

this is the time of year I love to watch you squirm. Winter starts Dec 21st, before that is bonus time.

To me...no big deal. I'd feel better with a chilly November but if not, fuk it......winters great but it's not life itself.

We differ in that a great part of my life from Dec to March involves winter so having a sucky winter does have a negative influence on my entertainment options although there is always a back up plan. But obviously the other more important parts of my life do not depend on winter or any weather for that matter, and that's probably true for every single person here.

lol when hasn't Scooter or any Met here had caution flags in October, can't remember that.

It's not a caution flag in the sense of having it every year. All I said was that I'm not sold on a blockbuster winter yet . I mean it's mid October. I'm not sure anyone can have much of a clue.
