ORH_wxman
How about the worries some had with the ridge in the Aleutians? Has that changed at all on the ens? No, it is still there...but looks like the GOA trough retrogrades back toward Aleutians after D12.

ORH_wxman
Am I incorrect or hasnt that warm pool that a lot in the industry were banking on for their cold forecasts, cooled significantly? It has cooled significantly, but it still pretty warm. It waxed and waned at times last autumn/winter as well, but it remained there in some form. Zeus
What's the issue? Probably the lack of greens. It just seems like they've ignored a major color while leveraging blends of the rest of the rainbow, you know? What do they have against green? powderfreak
Pattern is just boring since March really. Looking at the Lower 48 Warning Map from the NWS.... looks like most offices are probably bored to death. This has exciting weather written all over it. powderfreak
Yup. I've been beating that drum since late April. Something will happen, eventually. At least when its boring we can get snow maps for the higher rocks in NY and VT...because its the most interesting thing in the forecast. Looks like Picnic tables and above may get dusted tonight. Damage In Tolland
That's about as bad a Euro run as you can get going into mid October. Looks like the call of coldest night this month being this past Sunday will be dead on
IsentropicLift
Such a dry pattern for so long. I'm a firm believer that everything in meterology evens out eventually. Wouldn't shock me in the least if we were hoisting flooding warnings by Halloween.

IsentropicLift
You've been calling for flooding rains since July..sooner or later it will happen..but not this month The pattern is changing. You don't need a met degree to see that. We're also getting away from the summer convective hit or miss crap and shifting back towards large scale synoptic systems.
