SnoSki14
Yeah the gfs really amps up totals along the coast and potentially right over or just east of the city. With such a strong tropical fetch along with the relatively slow storm motion someone could really rake in the totals. Not sure how much role the cane plays if any but it would only enhance tropical moisture.

SnoSki14
So easy to get multiple +10-15 departures compared to -10 to -15 departures. I think highs would have to be in the 40s with freezing lows to get a -14 this time of year.
Sundog
Wow a low of 69 at LGA that has to be some kind of record. In fact, now that I checked almost everyone stayed around 70 for a low. That's insane.

IsentropicLift
The 4k NAM also indicates that an area of storms will fire out ahead of the main line this afternoon and affect western sections. Looks like that's currently happening just East of DC.
SnoSki14
The current breaks of sun should help create more instability so I wouldn't rule out some severe weather later today in the form of strong gusts at least.

Cfa
33 at LGA and 45 at JFK? Does a perfectly timed cold front need to stall out to make this happen? Is that physically possible?
Isotherm
33 at LGA and 45 at JFK? Does a perfectly timed cold front need to stall out to make this happen? Is that physically possible? That product grossly overestimates the marine influence all the time. Does the same thing with high temps in the warm season.
