Geos
Sweet^ Was sunny for a bit this morning, then it clouded over. Made it to 52°. Heavy snow wording in Bo's forecast tomorrow! http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-87.71093&lat=46.57097#.VFL3OfnF-NY
michsnowfreak
Well, October will indeed finish colder than normal at Detroit, which makes 8 of the 10 months in 2014 colder than normal (only May and June were warmer than normal). What a raw Halloween...bring on the first snowflakes!
Gilbertfly
October ending with a bang....safe spooky festivities all...cheers
cyclone77
23 in the point for tonight, so that should take care of anything that has survived the previous freezes we've had. Very dry air blowing in from the north today. Dews down below 20. Would have never known so much weather action was taking place a few hundred miles to the east today. Was sunny most of the day, and the winds really weren't a big deal at all.
Geos
In addition to the wave action today, the sunset tonight was very colorful. Very early morning high of 45°, but only 37° for a daytime high. Max gust at UGN only 45mph. Was definitely stronger at the lakefront.

michsnowfreak
Southeast Michigan saw the first snowflakes of the season Halloween evening, most places a trace, but a few isolated bands of up to 1-2" (including 1.3" at FNT). October finished below normal, an incredible stretch for Detroit, in that 10 of the last 12 months have been colder than normal. Yes indeed 2012's other shoe has dropped. Nov 2013: -4.0F Dec 2013: -3.3F Jan 2014: -9.2F Feb 2014: -8.7F Mar 2014: -8.5F Apr 2014: -0.3F May 2014: +1.7F Jun 2014: +1.1F Jul 2014: -3.7F Aug 2014: -0.5F Sep 2014: -0.9F Oct 2014: -0.3F Now, onto November! wisconsinwx
We have you beat Snowfreak, 11 of the past 12 months below average in MKE, and the one above average month was less than a degree above normal. Rare in the modern era for this to happen needless to say.
daddylonglegs
Finished Oct +.4F... avg was 50.6F ... nice month except it was wet with 3.53" of precip (+ inch.5 above norm)... Sitting right around freezing with full sun and almost no wind. Should be a nice day (low 40Fs).

Geos
October stats for my location. Cool and wet month overall. Only three highs at or above 70°, which is quite a feat for October.
Hoosier
Interesting look on the national scale as most of the country was AOA average. On the year, the coldest anomalies are generally located in our region. Bad time to be living around here if you like warmth.
