ChescoWx
Here in the NW Philadelphia burbs we have had 29 White Christmas days (1" on ground) at PM Obs in 116 years of local weather observations. That comes out to about 1 in every 4 Christmases on average. The most snow on the ground Christmas day was the 25" on the ground here in Chester County in 1966. In 1909 - 13" were on the ground on the way to 38" of snow by evening on the 26th. Other notable snow amounts include 1912 (10"); 1963 (7") and 1961 and 1960 (4") The most recent White Christmas was last year with 6" of snow on the ground. Since 1960 we have had 16 White Chrismas day's.
