Which station was that? The Jackman AWOS got down to 27F. The coldest I see in that county is 24F at Turner Brook on Mesowest.

33.5F here this morning, gardens made it through.  Other than some showers with the cold front in a couple of days dry conditions continue.  My pond is almost empty.  It has never been completely dry but may do so for the first time in the next 10 days.  I would guess with tranquil conditions next week the colors are now going to come on really quickly with last nights and tonights cold temperatures.

Holy crap...that's colder than the Adirondack radiators. Beats anything else I've seen by several degrees in any state.

Frost/freeze program done for much of the region?

Minimum temperatures...the super-valleys in the Adirondacks win, where "valley" means 1,800ft.

Was going to say judging by the looks of the map all but the Champlain Valley, Rutland, and Windsor, but you got the PNS. I see we kept the Western Slopes in too.

what was the low at SNLK?

Still mostly green up this way. Hiked up Camel's Hump today and saw very little color, just the isolated stressed tree. Although I must say it did seem like there were a few more showing color on the way home than on the way there. Felt like they were on the brink.

Yeah I was sort of surprised the west slopes were still going to get frost/freeze highlights...but probably less complicated that way to confuse folks about where the county is broken apart.

Temperatures all over the place tonight...MVL holding onto the inversion.  Calm winds remain.  I'm similar to the asos but a tick warmer at 35.5F (36) at home.

BTV (330ft)...49F

MPV(1150ft)...43F

1V4 (700ft)...38F

MVL (730ft)...34F

The high-end radiators:

HIE...30F

SLK...30F

BML...29F

Funny to think that a spot like BTV prone to wind is sitting 15-20F warmer than some spots nearby to the east and west at a similar latitude, just due to topography and a little elevation.

That 17 smells funny.

That was from our COOP, not the AWOS.

They are just south of the airfield by the sewage treatment plant. The site sits in a relative little bowl between Wood Pond and the sewage treatment ponds, just shy of 1,200 feet. Definitely a good radiating spot.

It's also possible their thermometer is set to Tolland. We did call to confirm and they said 17.2 was the low, so it wasn't a misread. Unfortunately, they won't report their weekend temps until Monday morning so we can't verify if they are consistently running cold.

And perhaps a smelly one.

I guess a simple look back at previous obs can let you know about a trend, but I kind of call Tolland on that. Even crushed SLK.
