Just absolutely pouring out there... looks like at least a quick 1/3rd of an inch so far in the past couple hours.

Well, flow looks like its shifted around to the northwest now, and with that last big burst passing through it seems like we’re into the upslope stage:

Mansfield ridge line just dropped into the 30s F, so the temperature is falling and the BTV NWS expects snow within a few hours:

.SYNOPSIS...

COOLER AIR WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION OVERNIGHT AS A STORM SYSTEM MOVES OUT OF THE AREA. SCATTERED SHOWERS WILL LINGER OVERNIGHT, AND COLDER SPOTS IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN WILL SEE SNOW BEFORE PRECIPITATION TAPERS OFF.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 8 AM SUNDAY MORNING/...

500MB VORT THAT WE`VE BEEN TRACKING TODAY IS JUST ABOUT TO LIFT OUT OF NORTHERN VERMONT INTO SOUTHERN QUEBEC...TAKING WIDESPREAD STEADIER RAINFALL WITH IT. SURFACE FRONT THROUGH THE NORTHERN ADIRONDACKS ON THE DOORSTEP OF THE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY...WITH WINDS IN NORTHERN NEW YORK WEST TO NORTHWEST AND TEMPERATURES THERE FALLING INTO THE LOW 50S. RADAR LOOP SHOWING SHOWERY PRECIPITATION CONTINUING BEHIND THE FRONT. EXPECT TERRAIN ENHANCED SHOWERS TO PERSIST OVERNIGHT...AND ABOVE ROUGHLY 1000 FT SNOW TO MIX IN WHEN TEMPS DROP TO NEAR FREEZING TOWARD MIDNIGHT. BUFKIT SOUNDINGS SHOWING A POCKET OF HIGHER RH COINCIDING WITH IDEAL SNOW GROWTH LAYER AROUND 06Z AS SURFACE TEMPS COOL ENOUGH TO SUPPORT SNOW.

Was driving through those storms this afternoon. Pretty heavy rain that necessitated the wiper knob be set to 'ludicrous speed' and numerous leafnadoes. Saw lightning but the pounding of the rain on the car muffled any thunder

Was 'ludicrous' on Sirius on the drive back?

Radar isn't showing much on the east side but I just drove from the Matterhorn to Piecasso and it is raining steadily...moderate wiper speed necessary. Quite windy too. If only it were snow...not too long from now should have some upslope snow events.

I was just outside and we’ve got pretty steady upslope-style rain falling out there – you can see the precipitation banked up against the Greens on the radar

Mansfield is knocking on the door of the freezing mark, so I have to think there’s some snow starting to mix in up there.

Mansfield down to 32 now. Upslope Season begins, one of those nice mornings where you climb waiting to see what the magic winter upslope fairy delivered. .  Enjoy

The temperature is down to 26 F as of this morning, so it’s not surprising that there’s even some white stuff visible on the Octagon web cam down at ~3,600’ or so.  Unfortunately, the camera looks like it’s covered in refrozen precipitation or something, so it’s not a very clear image at the moment.

It looks like freezing rain...not seeing much or any white though beyond the frozen window.

SLK has been reporting 1sm -SN though.

You could definitely see the snow on the ground earlier; it was similar to what borderwx showed from Jay Peak, but a bit more scattered.  Unfortunately the glazing has really gotten bad on the camera now, so it’s like trying to look through a piece of rock candy.  Precipitation has certainly continued down here through the morning though, and colorizing the BTV radar shows the frozen precipitation and snow in progress along the spine:
