eekuasepinniW
Lot of upsetting posts being made today. This summer seemed so boring and average and unsatisfying. Other than that bow echo on July 4th, it was just meh after meh.

OceanStWx
How much snow you forecasting for your NW flow areas of NNH? I've been playing around with the grids so far tonight. I conservatively have MWN with 2". The hi-res models have quite a bit of QPF in the high terrain (as usual probably overdone) and turn them over to snow pretty quickly. Soundings suggest a little warm nose might glaze the highest peaks as the mid levels crash quickly. Wouldn't be shocked to see johnsnhweather.com with some snow on the webcams. Yeah the hi-res are almost always overdone on these...especially in these quick hitting events (ie duration of moisture/flow combo under 6-8 hours). There's even a 0.5"< bubble on Mansfield's east slope after 6z Sunday, and I could see more like 0.1-0.2" type deal after the snow profile moves in. Not a half inch QPF. Just above 2000 feet, far enough north that the Greens don't rob moisture on a west wind, perfectly set up for a NW upslope. He has terrain to his N and W, but it is all around his elevation so he doesn't really downslope significantly.

I've gone up there... that road is steeper than any part of the MWN auto road. I really want to get a Davis on that large clearing between the first and second CT lakes along magalloway road. That area must radiate like mad.

Over 200 feet in less than a quarter mile heading up that road before the first turn. I can only imagine some of the temp differences that set up there because of the elevation changes. Magalloway Road as you say looks like a prime cold pit where it crosses the Connecticut.

The terrain in that whole area, extended towards Sutton, VT or Gallup Mills, Island Pond, etc, is perfect for that cold bowl effect. Pretty high average elevation of 1,500ft or so, but surrounded by 2-3,000ft elevations. They are perfect radiating spots, like SLK style pits in an overall higher elevation terrain base..
