Indiana Fall 2014

Ah, okay.  I misread the post. It was for only the first 20 days of November. '51 must have had quite a warm-up the last 10 days, leading the league at every major reporting station, then getting beat out.

I think it was more like the title holders had a "good" last 10 days. Nov 21-30, 1951 was pretty normal temp-wise at all of the sites...but of course couldn't keep up the big departures.

Here's the mean average temps for the last 10 days of November at each site, for 1951 and the eventual #1. Indy's is pretty silly.

Evansville

1951: 41.1˚

1976: 35.7˚

Fort Wayne

1951: 35.0˚

1976: 30.4˚

Indianapolis

1951: 37.9˚

1880: 19.6˚

For South Bend, Nov 1951 is the coldest on record.

Record high is probably out of reach for Indianapolis tomorrow, though IND is overachieving quite nicely today, but it should be one of the warmest Nov 30th's on record.

All 11/30 days with a max temp of 60˚ or higher:

68˚ in 1927

65˚ in 1991

64˚ in 1946, 1962, 1975, 1998, 2006

63˚ in 1881, 1908, 1934, 1982

62˚ in 1933

61˚ in 1941

60˚ in 1922, 1951, 1973

Side note: 11/30/1927, the record holder, had 0.5" of snow that day as a storm was moving through apparently. Hi/lo split that day was 68˚/27˚ with 1.81" of precipitation.
