tnweathernut
Very heavy rain in northeast TN this morning, plenty of ponding on roadways, and hydroplaning accidents have occurred. Temps in the mid 50's, not really windy at all. Last night was another story though, very windy in north Johnson City.
Runman292
Didn't see a whole lot of wind last night, but the rain was coming down very heavily in North Knoxville in the morning.

Runman292
Light to moderate snow falling in west Kingsport. I wish that was happening here. I kid you not that it is sunny and blue skies in North Knoxville.
kvskelton
Light to moderate snow falling in west Kingsport. Just drove through that band. Seems to have eased up for the moment. Here's something you don't see every day: However, in all fairness the thermometer on my truck read 34 and the temp in the image was taken at TRI. John1122
The temp is up to near 50 here in Hixon. Looked to be around 38 at my house, wondering if that precip is snow or rain up my way.
Carvers Gap
Backed off now. Overcast. All accumulation has melted.
1234snow
Just a little snow this morning nothing much not enough to stick. Heading to Bristol there has is a little dusting here.
John1122
About to leave Hixon for home. Friends told me it's been snowing off and on this morning and is now. Figured the upper levels were too supportive of snow for much of any rain to fall. Sunny and warm here n Hixon.
Vol4Life
Out in the Hardin Valley area, we had some large flakes mixing in with the rain. Pretty impressive...temperature on car read 47 degrees. It's usually within a degree or two of the actual temp. Really speaks to how cold the air is aloft.
zippity
8 C but very cold wind!

John1122
Drove from Hixon to home. No precip the entire trip until the Campbell county line. It's light snow here now. The ground is covered above 2500 feet but not here.
John1122
Snow is steady now, looks like good returns upstream in Middle Tennessee. Have a friend out there who says she's having a tough commute home. Currently 34 degrees here.
weathertree4u
Likely have a half inch to an inch already should accumulate rather fast now since the sun is down.
Jed33
Guess I should put it in here since it's an obs, but WOW, the wind picked up and the sky is just chocked full of small flakes. I mean true flizzard style lol. The temp also dropped 2 degrees in 10 min. Now down to 30. SWEET!!
Mr Bob
Flurries in downtown Chatt, Tdot cams show a little whitening out to the west on I 24. The best cam I could find was the I40/I81 cam....there is a good ground cover there.
Jed33
Nice band over the house right now with some moderate snow. If it keeps up, could get at least another half inch soon. Currently a little better than an inch on the ground close to 1.
Carvers Gap
.5-.75" on the ground. Roads are lightly snow covered. Kingsport City Schools did not make the call to cancel until 6:50. tnweathernut
Here is my visual observation from Erwin, TN. The mountains have to be getting absolutely hammered as this is technically a valley location. Between 4-5 inches (estimated) in Erwin, still ripping snow (pic was taken about 30 minutes ago. Temps in the mid 20's.

John1122
Had about an hour of steady nickels and quarters falling. Up to about 1.5-2 inches now. Blustery and blowing around so much it's tough to tell. Temp is 20 degrees. Very wintery day.
