Carvers Gap
Looks like some of that west TN moisture might be snow. Can anyone confirm? Disregard that time stamp. Just for radar purposes only...

Carvers Gap
Zippity, very light salt and pepper snow is falling. I can see it snowing a bit harder above 2,200'.
Silas Lang
Been getting some very light flurries and snow showers in JC. Nothing real steady.
zippity
Thanks! Living vicariously here in AL! We had maybe one flurry, but it sure is cold and windy.

nrgjeff
Flurries fell in Chattanooga, at least EB, Sunday morning; so, we are not blanked this winter. Congrats to those who enjoyed more on a peaceful Sunday morning. Hopefully this year is more than just flurries (N AL to CHA) but I've seen a couple like that '11-12 and '12-13. Fortunately the general cold pattern is still hopeful right now, but system specifics are still way up in the air. Sunday numerical modeling was so inspiring I will just post in the obs thread, lol! Silas Lang
Radar shows show moisture out toward West TN. Models didn't seem to show moisture that far south. Anything falling out that way?
nrgjeff
Snow showers are falling in East Kentucky. Never underestimate their elevation, kind of like Kentucky or Louisville basketball, lol! We have a member in Kentucky I hope is getting some snow. I would think southwest Virginia is next. Gate City? Tri Cties are a tougher call. Bristol could get in on the VA action. JC needs a little more northwest wind. Kingsport is not favored that wind direction but it hasn't shifted just yet. If that southeast Kentucky slight enhancement (IR satellite) makes it into Tennessee, maybe a Tri-Fecta...
Carvers Gap
Snow showers just moving in...wind has been absolutely howling. It's days like these I wish my neighbor raked his yard one more time. Now I get to do it for him...in my yard.
nrgjeff
Well if you got snow in Kingsport, probably safe to forecast the Tri-Fecta for the Tri Cities. Surely Johnson City and Bristol are next if it has not already started. Should we push our luck for at least flurries down into Morristown? You all enjoy! tnweathernut
Flurries in November and December are awesome! Flurries in mid January, on the other hand, are dead to me. :-) On topic, windy and becoming overcast in Erwin TN, temperature 43.
Carvers Gap
The Rotherwood wx station which is down on the river in a valley just recorded wind up to 30mph. I am up against Bays Mtn. We might have pushed 40 for about 5-10 secs. I sit at about 1,300'. Bays Mtn firetower just to my southwest and can see from my house sits at 2,400'.
