+9.3 so far for KTRI. Several +20 days. Wow! Next few days will put a dent in that. But we are right back to big heat around Christmas. Then, I think we see things move back to normal. Torch city. Whew!

Tuesday everyone in the Valley is back up to +16/17 departures, what it shows right now anyways

...FIRST SNOWFALL OF 2016 LIKELY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE TONIGHT...

AS LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINS MOVE THROUGH THE MID-STATE TONIGHT...
COLD AIR IS EXPECTED TO CLOSE IN QUICKLY. THIS WILL CAUSE THE
RAIN TO CHANGE OVER TO SNOW LEAVING MANY SPOTS IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
WITH THEIR FIRST SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF THE YEAR.

SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE GOING TO BE TRICKY. EXPECTATIONS ARE THAT
COUNTIES IN FAR NORTHWEST MIDDLE TENNESSEE...CLOSEST TO THE
TENNESSEE RIVER AND KENTUCKY...ARE GOING TO SEE THE BRUNT OF THIS
SYSTEM. UP TO ONE INCH OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE...BUT ANY SHIFT IN THE
TRACK OF THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM COULD INCREASE SNOWFALL TOTALS
GREATLY...ESPECIALLY IN STEWART...HOUSTON AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES.
UP TO ONE HALF INCH IS POSSIBLE ON THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU AND MOST
EVERYONE ELSE MAY SEE A DUSTING TO ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH...WITH
COUNTIES CLOSEST TO ALABAMA LIKELY SEEING NO SNOW ACCUMULATIONS AT
ALL.

IN REGARDS TO THE TIMING...RAIN IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN TO CHANGE
OVER TO SNOW AS EARLY AS 11 PM THIS EVENING FOR OUR NORTHWEST
COUNTIES NEAR THE TENNESSEE RIVER...1 AM FOR COUNTIES ALONG THE
INTERSTATE 65 CORRIDOR...AND BY 3 AM FOR COUNTIES EAST OF
INTERSTATE 65...INCLUDING THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.

GROUND TEMPERATURES ARE CURRENTLY VERY WARM BUT THIS PUSH OF COLD
AIR MAY CAUSE SOME ISOLATED TRAVEL CONCERNS AS TEMPERATURES FALL
INTO THE UPPER 20S BY DAYBREAK ON SUNDAY. ELEVATED SURFACES ALONG
WITH BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES COULD BECOME SLICK FOR SEVERAL HOURS
SUNDAY MORNING. WHILE DAYTIME HIGHS ON SUNDAY ARE EXPECTED TO
REMAIN BELOW FREEZING...SUNSHINE IS EXPECTED BY EARLY SUNDAY
AFTERNOON AND THIS SHOULD ALLEVIATE ANY SLICK SURFACES.

PLEASE REMAIN WEATHER AWARE TONIGHT AS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY TO BE NEEDED IN THOSE FAR NORTHWEST
COUNTIES OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
