dwagner88
I somehow got missed again today. My 2 day total is a whopping 0.05". A coworker in Cleveland recorded 3.6 inches in 45 minutes this afternoo on his jobsite. The data states that is almost a 500 year storm. It knocked out power to most of Cleveland as well. jaxjagman
Early MCS really cooled things off here, finally seeing something going in Mo..HRRR shows there should be a MCS going on around Memphis, latest obs there is 84 with some MUcapes around 4k right now but it's dead that way on the radar

dwagner88
Pretty sure I verified severe warnings both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Quite strong winds with both storms. My parents house got hit by lightning with the Sunday storm. Ruined about 4 grand in electronics and blew apart the eave of the roof where it hit. This is the 3rd time their house has been hit. They plan to install lightning rods when they get the roof repaired.

Stovepipe
That was one mean looking sky this morning. Heavy rain and wind on UT campus but no hail yet that I've seen. Power is out at my house in west Knox.

rbowman
Odd cloud formation I saw yesterday on my bike ride. This was associated with a thunderstorm that was losing steam. image.jpg image.jpg Looks like that could be forming within an updraft into the storm. Air cooling within that column and condensing. John1122
With a little over an inch in the last 24 hours. I am at almost 9 inches for the month of July. It seems like if there's even a slight chance of a shower, it happens for me. If this wet pattern can hold into winter, we might get some more fireworks of the white variety. dwagner88
Lots of heavy rain today and the radar is loaded for the rest of the night. Thinking we may start seeing some minor flooding problems starting tomorrow. Traffic is an absolute nightmare around town right now. Lots of wrecks. Jed33
Picked up some unexpected heavy rain here in NE Hamblen Co. Today. Really it came out of nowhere, but btwn 6-7 PM we had almost 2in of rain here at the house. Looks like it was very isolated though, as the southern and western part of the county didn't get as much. dwagner88
Over 2" of rain from this evening's round of storms. Probably one of the more intense unwarned storms I can recall. I've certainly seen far tamer storms with warnings from MRX.
Stovepipe
It's been a nice week for much needed rain and storms. There was some badass lightning in the batch that moved in at dusk yesterday in Knox county. It looks like we'll get a nice little break in the humidity next few days.
