I'm sure areas on the plateau and closer to the mountains are well into the teens this morning.

19 is a popular number on the 6am hourly obs:

Tri   19

Elizabethton   16

Gatlinburg  19

Cookeville   19

Sparta  19

Winchester  19

Lewisburg   19

Must be a little inversion this morning in some areas. I was colder yesterday morning by several degrees.

Yeah, your right.  It looks the like mountain valleys are colder than the mountain tops on the WunderMap.  I guess the warm air is already moving in aloft.  I did notice a 15 over in western NC.

Bring on the warm air!  Looking forward to 58 today, after a pathetic 45 yesterday in full sun.

Had an extremely loud t-storm earlier. Picked up another .4 inches of rain this morning. Everything is just soaked. Norris Lake is above summer pool. The creeks are huge every where. Hopefully we avoid one of the popup storms tomorrow and Saturday before the next heavy rain event Saturday night/Sunday works it's way into the region.

Bottomed out at 42 this morning which was about an even compromise between GFS and NWS predictions.  Hopefully any cold threats are behind us here in the central valley.

Noticed quite a few reports of temps in the 30s away from the metro areas this morning on the hourly reports. I bet there was a little bit of frost around. I wonder if that's the last we see of 30s til fall? Outside of the really high elevations anyway.

Not getting much of anything here, but in town, it's been pouring for awhile. Seems an isolated little storm popped up early this morning over central and south Hamblen Co. Been thundering off and on all morning. No mention of morning storms on MRX forecast-I bet they are laughing about now, as this storm is sitting right over the city of Morristown.

Approaching three weeks with no significant rain other than a passing shower. Been a month since we had a soaker. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come. Beginning the summer dry is never a good thing. The airport has .49 for May. At my house, I am guessing less than .15.
