Windspeed
The first picture was taken during the snow we had this morning. The second picture happened just a few minutes ago as a snow band rolled through. It was almost a total white out for a few minutes. OH MY GOD! HOW APOCALYPTIC! THE SNOW BAND REVERSED GRAVITY! 1234snow
I love snow squalls and this one delivered the goods. After I took this video I went out and walked around in it while it was still ripping. https://vimeo.com/119981365

Carvers Gap
I have blowing and drifting snow here. My 4.5" is about 10" on the lee sides of landscaping and the hill that runs the length of my front yard at the property line.
Jed33
That sure was a fun clipper! It was almost like a blizzard for sure. Picked up A little over an inch to go with my ice and snow from Monday brings me up to about 2.25 total. Of course as I type this, the sun is out in full blast doing a number on the housetops and roads. The grass is holding up well. It is about 3in deep there and drifts on the side about 4-5in deep. After I took this video I went out and walked around in it while it was still ripping. Great video! I kept hoping to hear thundersnow when it moved through here. Ended up with about an inch and a half of fluff today. It was a real nice topping on the ice.
John1122
Picked up 2.5 total inches today. Now 8 inches of snow/sleet on the week. If I can get 3-5 inches Friday night it will have been an epic week.
John1122
It snowed as hard here around 11 am that visibility went down to about 100 feet. I'm glad that most of us have managed to make some hay with this one.
Jed33
Did anyone else in Tri or elsewhere hear thunder? My mother in law in Bristol VA said she had a loud clap at one time during the heaviest band. For reference, she is off exit 7 near high point school on sinking creek road. John1122
I wouldn't be surprised if the people under the bands between Morristown and Sevier haven't gotten a couple of inches from just them. They are very narrow but have been training for over an hour in the same spots. I remember some 4-6 inch totals for places that happened to last year. Windspeed
I think I am going to crush the forecast low tonight. I'm already at 12º @ 9 pm EST. It has fallen 3º in the past hour. Skies are clear.
1234snow
Time to make some more videos of vaporizing pots of boiling water right? I forgot about doing that last year! I didn't figure I'd get a chance to do that again. I'm going to have to come up with something different. Last year I did it shooting out of a water gun. Down to 14 now. I've got a long way to go to get to those negative numbers. Maybe tomorrow night would be the better night.

I've got 12º my house, but I'm in a valley.

Still got 8-9 hours for radiational cooling.

Windspeed
Clinch School in Sneedville, TN, is already down to 5ºF. Unless there's something wrong with the equipment, that's the coldest I see reporting right now in the KTRI area.
John1122
Currently -1 with plenty of time to keep dropping. Scattered clouds and flurries overnight and still below 0 is pretty impressive.
John1122
Down to -4. Not sure if tonight or tomorrow night will be colder. Huge difference in JKL's predicted lows vs MRX. 15 miles or less from me in KY has a predicted low of -15 for tonight. MRX has -1 predicted.
