Ginx snewx
November is the absolute worst most soul-deadening month. Thankfully I pushed my fall vacation rental back so I won't have to experience a single day of it up here. I do like the way the wind swirls all the dead plant life into piles. Walpole Joe
I love November over March for some reasons already mentioned, but snow is not one of them. Name me all of the March KUs and all of the November ones. If an anafrontal sloppy 1-2" is your thing then congrats. Agree, November is a transitions, has the anticipation of winter and all the fools gold that comes with it. Daylight decreases and the people who hate winter start to get miserable. Thanksgiving and football, how can you hate November?

ORH_wxman
November snows are usually crappy small ones...you occasionally get a larger 4-8" event...but they are not very common. Comparing March vs November for snow is like comparing ORH and NYC. It's not close. November is much warmer too. You have to reach November 21st to equal the warmest day in March (31st). Its not even close for monthly average. The only thing November has going for it over March is shorter days and the whole idea of "going into winter" vs coming out of it....but March will look like mid-winter countless times over a random day in November which is often in the 40s or lower 50s with sticks and mud. CoastalWx
Yep, I just don't get the justification for it weatherwise, unless you have a pants tent for short days.

powderfreak
Yeah...I can CAD my way to a decent SWFE in Novie. 11/23/11 was the last good one here. That was a good event. About 10-11" of paste up here. November can be a good upslope month if we get some early cold air injections...squally type snows.
dendrite
48 with rain? They came close to tying their record with 42 on 1/11/10 It snowed in S FL. There were reports in Homestead and Miami. FLL had a -SN ob. That's why I said "relatively close."

CoastalWx
Which isn't weather-related anyway... I meant the shorter days and colder weather route, but poor arguments for "wintry" weather . However , the 1/5 yr 3-6" snowfall around here is nothing like it. There is a special feeling for those. Unfortunately, they just do not happen frequently.
