IsentropicLift
The Euro ensemble mean has a more progressive look to it but that's what you would expect at day 8-10. Either way the mean has a trough in the northeast, above normal heights near Greenland and an ULL in the GOA.
moneypitmike
Topped out at 59.0 at the Pit. Pretty much as progged ('near 60' was the zfp). 58.0/46 now.
dendrite
I haven't had 20's here in September in the last 14 years so I'm not too worried.9/29/2000 was a cold one. I think I had 25F in Auburn.

powderfreak
BTV essentially calling for the end of the growing season on Thursday night...where it didn't end last night. IF NOT ALREADY CLEAR, IT WILL CLEAR OUT FOR THURSDAY NIGHT. EXCELLENT RADIATIONAL COOLING SITUATION SETTING UP. GUIDANCE HAS BEEN TRENDING COOLER, AND I STILL WENT A BIT BELOW IT ESPECIALLY FOR NORMALLY COLDER LOCATIONS. BOTTOM LINE, LOOKS LIKE MOST OUTSIDE OF THE IMMEDIATE ST LAWRENCE AND CHAMPLAIN VALLEYS, THERE WILL BE A FREEZE -- SOME PLACES A HARD FREEZE WITH TEMPERATURES INTO THE MID 20S. EVEN THE WARMEST VALLEYS WILL LIKELY SEE A FAIRLY WIDESPREAD FROST. TO ME IT LOOKS LIKE ANY ACTIVELY GROWING PLANTS WILL BE PRETTY MUCH DONE WITH. TalcottWx
Regarding the mouse...do you have a wireless optical mouse? If so, change the batteries. Those things will go for weeks with low power causing the mouse to work for a second, then not for a few seconds, etc and the curser looks like it's freezing and jumping around. Very annoying. Or is your computer just old and slow and can't keep up with the new apps? computer has plenty of bang in it. Made it to play Battlefield 4 which is a high end game. Freezing on chrome and java videos so I know something isnt right. Found some spyware malware today so we'll see if thats it!

CoastalWx
Yeah Euro looks hideous. So much for cool early October it appears It does look like the cooler air dumps into the Plains at the beginning of the month. It's just an overall dull pattern. Nothing to get worked up about. weathafella
Everybody started October 2013 with a big time torch. The big 4 all finished the month solidly above. Don't root for cold September through March because it's hard to sustain that.

Damage In Tolland
Looks like after some milder weather in the 11-15 day, we may see more ridging out west again. Perhaps a cooler start to October, but some people are thinking a warmer mid October. Part of that is the anticipation of a below normal WPAC typhoon activity at the time...but that isn't always the only driver of the pattern. It's probably going to depend on convection and MJO/CCKW stuff in the WPAC. Definitely a muddied signal there. Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things...just having some disco. Muddled ended up winning it would seem.
