Mr Bob
According to the Euro weeklies...sometime in October....
jaxjagman
Nice cool spell looking at the weeklies towards the Rockies the end of Sept. The weeklies also show the Atlantic getting active with the tropics systems. The weeklies did rather well with Cristobal around 400 hrs it had it off shore of N/FL on the 25th,i remember this because the date was my b-day...lol.So it's sniffing the pattern out possibly.Other than that in the tropics the western gulf looks to be active the next couple weeks.Something that could possibly effect us down the road even

LithiaWx
I like checking meteostar a couple of times a day. That only shows OP GFS runs but it does give an idea of what may be coming if it keeps showing up with consistency. It does appear that it will begin to cool down in 7-10 days. That said I saw a post from wxsouth this morning stating that the front has the possibility of getting hung up before making it this far south and east. We will see but in the end summer can only hold on for a short bit longer as the days are getting progressively shorter with each passing evening. The long cold decent into winter continues and I couldn't be more excited to see summer in the rearview mirror.
valkhorn
To me it looks like a few places in the middle of the TN Valley could be in the 40s overnight with the front in 7-10 days, and I wouldn't be surprised if highs in the upper 60s to near 70 were seen around Knoxville. My reasoning is a bit weird but hear me out. We've already had a few fronts this summer to give us mid to low 50s overnight and highs in the mid to upper 70s. This front will be considerably colder and the first real front of fall, so it stands to reason that it'll be cooler than anything we've seen on any sunny days this summer. jaxjagman
Next weekend looks rather good temp wise low to mid 70's looks to be the order.Like valkhorn said, right now someone could possibly see some 40's more than likely in our higher elevations ,if the models stick with it. The 6z GFS brings a 49 degree reading down to my area in about 10 days. This seems very mirage like when the time period gets closer the lower temps get pushed back a few more days but we shall see. It also seems to show a CAD signature around day 7 with east winds and temps in the low 70's for a high for my location.
Mr Bob
Aside from Snow and severe, perhaps my favorite weather event is the first fall cold front and especially as humid as it has been the last few weeks...Friday and this weekend are going to be most excellent! John1122
The cold front Sunday was nice here. It cleared away the humidity and there was a chill on the breeze. Big bright moon out there now after a later afternoon/early evening storm, temps in the upper 50s. Looking like 40s could be possible in the next 6-10 days. valkhorn
Looks like this weekend won't be as chilly as I thought it would. However, the front after that will likely be colder, etc. And, who knows what late Sept. into October will bring.
