doncat
It's one thing for September to torch but a torch in October is not a good sign for winter.Yeah it usually isn' but last Oct was +3 and things turned out pretty good.

JLPhill
http://www.weatherbell.com/saturday-summary-september-13-2014 The nonsensical climate change denial in the beginning of this video essentially invalidates the forecast provided by this meteorologist (JB I believe). This person can't remove their own impartiality from their predictions, which will inevitably making them a poor forecaster.

doncat
Slowly bringing the positive temp departures down for the month... +3.5 degrees here now, with the contined cool this coming week, maybe we can get departures down close to 0 before any warm up. Isotherm
Still +5.7 here as of today. Could see us falling to maybe +1/+1.5 or so though before the warmth returns for the last 10 days of the month.
mattinpa
Septembers have been well above the 30 year norm over the last 10 years, but the way models have been all over the place the jury is still out on the last week of the month. That's true. It's far out but kind of hoping October is cool even more, because that gives us better odds for the winter overall. At least it looks like hot weather is over. Absolute Humidity
.27" rain today 2" for the month. Last Oct torched but Nov cooled off considerably with accum snow on the 12th then the -EPO on steroids kicked in for Dec sealing our snowy fate for the winter. We'll see what happens this year. bluewave
While NYC didn't get as hot as last September for a daily high temperature, we are following the similar theme of dropping into the low 50's following 90+ degree temperatures. 9-13...NYC 11 96 77 87 17 12 87 70 79 9 13 77 59 68 -1 14 67 54 61 -8 15 73 51 62 -6 16 73 56 65 -3 17 65 50 58 -10 18 72 51 62 -5 19 78 55 67

Juliancolton
Upper 40s for NYC tonight? Upper 30s for the mid-Hudson Valley? NWS 'cast takes me down to 41, so it's very possible.
IsentropicLift
It was almost to cold last night to sleep with the fan on and the windows open. I slept with the comforter on all night for the first time since May without the AC blasting. I think 90's are done and other than a stray day in the lower 80's, 70's will be the rule.
