nice double barrel late evening visible

That's a sweet sat pic.  You can really see the vorticity in that band up there.

Wimpy little cell passed just north shortly after sunset.  Was just strong enough to puke out a few bolts up in the anvil region.  Didn't see a single CG lol.  Was still nice to get an evening lightning op again though.  First one since June 30th.

Progress. :D

LAF was at 1.40" of rain and counting tonight, as of 12:10am. Probably more here at my place...small ponds have formed in the yard.

Wow, only 0.23 in my tippy bucket. Sharp cut off between you and I. It shows well on the storm total precipitation from IND also.

Tornado touched down near Rochester this morning, started just east of the Palace of Auburn Hills:

That is incredibly random. Was it even warned? I was watching the storms this morning but when they broke up just to my west and scooted on north, I took my eye off of things.

The mosquitoes are probably the worst i've seen all year and that is saying a lot.  Amazingly bad.  Can hardly take the kids out without being swarmed.

Nice day...slow warm up...  Really hope I don't need to turn on the AC again this year, but late week looks iffy.  Hope for some clouds.

I'm surprised to hear the mosquitoes. Around here they were fewer than normal the whole summer. I know some people that were in central and northern WI and none of them said the mosquitoes were especially bad. I guess the mosquitoes know their time is almost up and they're going out with a bang by you!

Perfect early Autumn day today - complete sunshine and 66° for a high.

They were as bad as I have ever seen in RFD this summer. They disappeared last week though, have only seen a few since.

Maybe in this area it has something to do with the cooler air near the lake or something, because there is plenty of mosquito habitat around the neighborhood...

Down to 46° this morning. We start our days now with < 12 hours of daylight.

Made it into the 30's for the first time in my tiny corner of SE Ohio this morning...hit 36 on campus. I peaked out my window at 8AM and didn't see any front, oh well, maybe next time. This upcoming ridging ensures I spend more of my time doing school work, but we really need rain here. PKB has gotten 0.75" of rain in September.
