I volunteer at IWX on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and ended up driving back through that storm.  I'm terrible at estimating wind speeds, but I'll guess that gusts were around 60 mph when I hit it just west of Plymouth on 30.

Power was out at the intersection with Hwy 39, and then all the way west from there to the Valpo airport.  In three different places there were trees down blocking part of 30.  There were limbs down pretty much throughout LaPorte County, and it looked like almost every side street in Wanatah was blocked by limbs.

Fun little overacheiver of a day.

The severe weather threat will likely continue through at least tomorrow morning, with that wave coming out of MN amplifying and the instability we have now being maintained/enhanced...

Though I imagine the main threat will gradually transition to hail with the cold pool moving overhead...

That was a pretty nice storm here. I was in Midtown Detroit visiting with my mother and seemed to miss out on the brunt of it, but thankfully kept power back home further south where the action as a little heavier.

It was just an old-fashioned garden variety storm here. Hardly any wind.

Will likely see some more t'storms late tonight/tomorrow morning though...

From the reports, you drove right through the hardest hit area in the region. I didn't know that you volunteered for IWX. Hit me up on Chat sometime.

0.72" here with enough lightning to make it fun. No winds or hail though.

that's been the story of my summer…not complaining, frequency has been high enough to be enjoyable

Pretty much here too. Nothing extraordinary, but enough general action to be satisfied. Up until tonight, I went 4 days in a row without rain/storms. Seemed strange. It could be worse...
