Ralph Wiggum
Anyone else seeing the threat in sepa late tuesday into wednesday for some frozen turning to rain? CAD in place and 850s well below freezing. Didnt check surface yet but assuming with the CAD in place there could be some icing issues for some before changing to rain. Not likely to ever see a wintry Nov like this again unless i move north. It's definitely been a very impressive period here too. The 4 plus inches that fell here on Wednesday still remains with not much having melted. We've also had snow falling at some point during the last 4 days and 6 days in total during November. This holiday weekend has looked and felt a lot more like January.
KamuSnow
44F outside now, warmest since last Wednesday predawn. The thin snowcover (1 1/2" plus) we had here is fading, including overnight. Still snow in shaded areas, but in the sunny areas it will likely all be melted come this afternoon. Not as impressive as farther north, but not bad for November, this will be the 7th day this month with some snow on the ground here.

stemwinder
Rain in California from border to border, El Nino look for sure. Ya know, I'm happy that it's wet in California. I'll forego winter snow for a while, just to see a green CA, if possible. Everything is interconnected. Sometimes, it works for both coasts - e.g., 1995-96 had wet CA rainstorms during that snowy EC winter. But that was an unusual year, I think. famartin
7 years ago someone wrote a paper on using a webcam to measure snow depth... Its actually a shame that it was never put in a weather journal (its a computer science journal) http://www.iaeng.org/IJCS/issues_v34/issue_1/IJCS_34_1_22.pdf
