BucksCO_PA
Go figure, I don't think I hit 90....88.1 now and the highest I seen was 89.1 Same deal here, 89 locally, gonna have to hit on Sunday or Aug shutout
BBasile
Anyone else catch NASA's rocket launch this morning from Virginia? It released sub-payloads into space that were carrying barium, lithium, and strontium. The materials were vaporized and glowed blue-green. It was pretty awesome looking. RedSky
Slightly used the AC for the second time in August last evening. Ironically September is looking to have more AC days than August this year Wish I had heard about the rocket launch this morning
DarthDoppler
Look at the Alpine Visitor Center Webcam at Rocky Mountain National Park if you want a treat (not only snowing but 26.6F at that!) I personally hope for an August 90 degree shutout for ABE, a bunch of fools at my work think "August is the hottest month". Where did that ever come from? (for our area anyway, obviously some places around the globe it could be, but certainly not here.)

I'm not really sure where it comes from.
Birds~69
Same deal here, 89 locally, gonna have to hit on Sunday or Aug shutout Don't think it will happen in the Burbs....especially if clouds/showers move in. Maybe 90+ in Philly but don't think the burbs ...probably another day peaking in the 87-89 range.

Where did that ever come from? (for our area anyway, obviously some places around the globe it could be, but certainly not here.) It's common for people to think August is hottest. I'm always glad to see it come, because July is now past. Could it just be "heat fatigue"? Wondering if August has higher dew points, or at least relative humidity. August is the hotter month in some places around the N hemisphere (e.g., places in the Mediterranean), but not here.
Birds~69
I've barely seen a drop a sun all day...overcast currently. Feels good w/a nice breeze ...76.6/Hum 56%/DP 60F.

JTA66
Yup, my AC is on as well ... more for the humidity at this point. If the longer range outlooks are correct, I'll be running the AC more in Sept than I have all summer.
SalemCountyNJ
Of course, my daughter goes back to college so I usually close the pool next weekend. Looks like I should keep it open for another week or two..
RedSky
Hard summer to make plans. Yesterday was to be nice and 80 but it was overcast and had a high of 71F here. Today was to have many showers and it's been a hot mostly sunny day Tomorrow I have no idea what we are going to get, going to have to flip a coin for plans

Maybe 90+ in Philly but don't think the burbs ...probably another day peaking in the 87-89 range. right on the money, 88 locally today, clouds / showers put the kibosh on the shot at 90 today, so it appears you have to go back to the early 80's for consecutive AUG's without reaching 90 at TTN in any event it was a great day to chill by the pool early this afternoon, took a little bit to used that soup today, one more pool day tomorrow before the association closes it on TUES, crazy how every summer it just a blur..... GFS today had a strong cold front blowing through next weekend, hopefully it'll be decent day for the Birds opener, not going to pretty down there if it's a day like today
RedSky
High temp of just 82F keeping the AC day totals for the month at 2 Just .15" of rain on the day and finishing the month at a paltry 1.40". Catching no breaks with the rain certainly the driest month in years Awfully bizarre to have such a cool yet dry month in the summer as typically coolness would equate to troughy wet conditions
BBasile
Hit 90° today for the first time this month (90.1), and only the 9th time this year. And just recently reached 5.00" of rain for the month. Should get a bit more before midnight.

Hot temps and watching football is kinda annoying....this should work out pretty well. Looking long range this week may be the last of the A/C. Currently 86.8....soupy as hell w/a DP of 74%. dssbss
So I have seen some talk about a strong low pressure off the coast next week on some twitter feeds. Any credibility?
Mitchell Gaines
So I have seen some talk about a strong low pressure off the coast next week on some twitter feeds. Any credibility? The 12z UKMET does still have it. A fair number of the of ensemble members within the 18z GEFS have it as well. I wouldn't call it a strong low pressure. JTA66
86.1F/73DP ... perhaps the most uncomfortable day of the summer! Many are calling for fall temps to average above normal, but hopefully today is the last truly oppressive day of the season.
Treckasec
Wow, temperatures going down to the lower 70s with some places going even to the mid 60s next week! And 40-50 degree nights. Crazy going from June weather to late September weather.
JTA66
Reached a high of 90.4F yesterday before the storms rolled in -- only the 3rd time this year I hit 90F or above. Feels like football weather out there today!
