Birds~69
-4.2 so far for the month at Willow Grove. Only two 90F days imby for the season thus far. It'll probably be a long time before we experience a summer like this again! It hasn't even felt like summer. A couple 2-3 day toasty periods but overall the weather has been like mid-late spring. I haven't used the A/C for quite a while and nights are refreshing. We already reached our highest avg high (86) and it's on the way down (currently 84) and will decrease more rapidly as we approach Sept.
Maxwell03
Glad the models backed off a soaking for southern zones tonight. They do not need another ark flood.

RedSky
Still just one AC day this month. My electric bill might be insane low around $

stemwinder
love the open windows at night with all the summer night time insert/bug sounds! The crickets are in full song. Almost drowning out the katydids. This kind of late summer is a great time if you love nature.
MacChump
wasn't sure where to put this so figured this is as good a place as any...recently noticed a bunch of houses in our neighborhood getting new roofs...asked around and it turns out the hail storm in may caused damage to a bunch of houses that really isn't noticeable to the naked eye...called our insurance company and they had an adjuster come out yesterday to check out our roof...he just called me and told me that we need a new roof, gutters, screens (i knew these had some holes in them but never wolud have made a claim based solely on that), siding, and a whole bunch of other stuff...i was floored by the amount of the claim...really, stunned...now i need to start checking out contractors, i guess...anyway, just a heads up to those of you who got nailed with hail last spring... RedSky
Big fail with the rain, and with just .85" for the month it really is becoming dry especially 10 miles to the east of qtown where lawns are brown
Treckasec
It's surprising to see some red and yellow leaves already. I even saw a bunch of fallen brown leaves under a few trees. Pretty early for trees to change colors.

Birds~69
$42.06 electric bill Saved $20 with the cool weather $36.08 for me and if I didn't watch so many damn sports (TV) it may have sunk to $30 or below. I BBQ a lot so limited electric stove but propane cost may equal it all out.

Birds~69
How do get a $36 electric bill, single, live in an apt.?? Wouldn't say single but not married and yes an apt. Don't watch much TV except sports...if I wasn't a sports-head I'd probably ditch Comcast except internet. (heavy user) Replaced all lights w/fluorescent and changed power suppliers. RedSky
My electric is for a house. For some reason electric is cheap in qtown. I have LED lighting and gas stove, dryer and hot water heater.

My brother called insurance company early in the month for the same reason he lives in chester. They determined he had a few lose shingles from one of the summer storms and are paying for him to get a new roof. Sure is happy he made that phone call. Birds~69
Well, looks like I'll have to wake up the A/C tomorrow after a long break. More humid and a little more heat Thought I may have to crank it today but it's not too bad. Maybe a couple more warm/semi-hot days then see ya Summer....hello Fall. Currently 86.1/DP 63/Hum 48% Also pulled the trigger this morning, haven't used the AC in Aug , granted been away for 2 wks but not sure I would have used regardless. Did not hit 90 locally yesterday so still no days either in Aug. If not today then most likely next week as it looks very warm right now.
