AlaskaETC
I'm looking to buckle down on some serious reading about these meteorology topics this fall...I managed to find a good textbook about ENSO on Amazon, but couldn't find anything on Winter or severe weather. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
CodyErvin
I do know Tim Vasquez has some great easy-to-read books on his websites at http://www.weathergraphics.com/. I've read a few of his books in the severe weather niche and they are pretty straight forward and don't have too much math involved if that is what you are looking for. Otherwise a more intermediate book would be Mesoscale Meteorology in the Mid Latitudes. http://www.amazon.com/Mesoscale-Meteorology-Midlatitudes-Paul-Markowski/dp/0470742135 Hope this helps! AlaskaETC
Thanks, that certainly helps! I think the Vasquez book would be more in my alley, although the other one looks interesting if not challenging as well. I did manage to find an interesting book on winter weather thanks to the Weather Marketplace section. These are ones I was looking at, anyone know if they are they worth it? http://www.amazon.com/Northeast-Snowstorms-Volume-Set/dp/1878220640/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=8-1&keywords=northeastern+snowstorm http://www.amazon.com/Introduction-Dynamics-Nino-Southern-Oscillation/dp/0120885484/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1409147633&sr=1-4&keywords=El+Nino

Yes they are worth it!

Yes they are worth it! I looked at them, they still seem relevant in explaining Nor'easters and and how they develop?
