Ian
I always wonder exactly where the sensor is at DCA, is it near the Economy Parking in the SW Corridor? Since the Airport is surrounded by water in the S to NE directions. A South wind and a Southwest wind give you big differences. Anyways their are other places torching like Easton, where it is 95It's between the river bank and the runway. On phone so can't show exactly but it's pretty close to the water. Wind direction is good for torch there but kind of odd to see it that much higher than immediate surrounds.
MN Transplant
Interesting DCA is 3 hotter than convention center which runs warm. The three big summers DCA consistently was +5 on my high. I got to 92.5 today. I am guessing we haven't been seeing the big DCA bumps this year because it has been so wet. A week without rain and now we downslope torch. Mrs.J
That line just came through here. Picked up .84" in under 10 min. Had a large lightning strike behind our house in the field that made the lights go all Psycho. My husband saw the strike coming home from Lowes pulling into the neighborhood. PrinceFrederickWx
Weatherbug in Prince Frederick says 94 (which usually tends to be a few degrees too cold). My thermometer says 97 (which is usually a few degrees too warm). So its probably something in between. Nice last first day of summer.

NorthArlington101
Getting all the thunder and lightning of the storm but no rain, and we need the rain. Hopefully the backend storm delivers.
T. August
80.3 after a high of 88.0. The breeze off the Bay really helped keep the temp down. Raining pretty good now.

CAPE
We joke about the DC split, but damn this is a good example. Finally not getting a split here. No rain for 2 weeks..its like a dust bowl. Had a nice deluge an hour ago and now a steady moderate rain. Radar trends look decent. Hope I can pick up a half inch or so.
H2O
Had rain from kent island all the way home. Rained even more after unpacking. Nice way to end a weekend at the beach.
mattie g
Going to have to water tonight Looks like I had around .75" at home yesterday. Haven't had a drop of rain down here in SC since I got here last Saturday. Kind of surprising since it's basically monsoon season here.
das
Outflow is heavenly. Dropped my temp from the daily high of 86.5F (no 90's in all of August!) to 72.3F in less than 5 minutes before even the first drop fell. First line gave us 0.08" then the next cell dropped 0.67" a couple of hours later. Nice. 24% (22 of 92) of our nights were <60F lows this met summer here in Clarksburg. Wonderful.
