Using the models for QPF is pretty useless in the summer as days like today can prove. Some places are probably going to pick up a few inches just from today alone and I'm sure none of the models will tell you that. 

Not even the HRRR had this. I'm up to 1.05". Those few hours of sun were self destruct.

Per radar, looks like the cell that came over Bedminster and the cell from New Providence both moved north and converged right over me in Whippany. Went from nothing to some gorgeous lightning and boomers in a matter of minutes!  Glad I'm working from home today, giving me a great view out of my window.
