NORTHWESTERN NASSAU COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...
UNION COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...
NEW YORK (MANHATTAN) COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...
BRONX COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...

* AT 416 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
FLASH FLOODING FROM A THUNDERSTORM NEAR HARRISON. MORE SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE DEVELOPING BEHIND THIS
THUNDERSTORM. RAIN RATES UP TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR ARE EXPECTED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES
AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. FLOOD WATERS ARE
USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS
POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD.

WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN
AROUND...DONT DROWN.

Can see the storms building into NJ via the visible satellite loop. Looks like well get some late sun behind the storms.

I don't know about seeing late sun as there's plenty more lines developing behind the initial one.

Sunny here now in CNJ, but more storms aren't far behind.  Upto 92 here before clouds moved in around 3:30

Iso - seems im more in-line with New Brunswick.  You must have had your share of 88/89's last year if I remember right

 

 

Tony, you remembered correctly, better than I did in fact. I had 7 days with highs of 87.5-89.4 last summer. So if those were 90s, I would have been at 23 just like New Brunswick as well.

 

This summer has been more cut and dry. Either 90+ or much cooler than that. Hopefully we can squeeze out at least 3-4 more.
