Lakes Region ftw. Prefer those lakes to ocean every day of the week. Will do ocean over the weekend and lakes next month when they'll be too cool to swim in unfortunately.

Lake temp is great right now. Looks like it should stay mild given next 7-10 days, but will cool off eventually. Nice day here with some downsloping NW winds keeping clouds at bay.

Looking ahead it seems like the first week of September is looking warm for sure. It seems

Like after the first week we'll undergo a change where higher heights in western Canada coincides with a ridge near Greenland and a stout trough in coastal SE Canada. Almost looks like a more classic N-S temp gradient from southern Canada to the Gulf coast if you believe the EC ensembles. Verbatim it doesn't seem that cool, but it may be a wetter pattern with sneaky cool shots building in from the north.

66/50 at MVL ...definitely feels cooler than the 81/62 ob exactly 24 hours ago. Pretty decent airmass change. Up to 61F now at the office at 1550ft...struggling to climb much higher than that with clouds hugging the mountains. Good deal of clouds today with WNW flow orographics and cold temps aloft. Feels like fall for sure, what Blizz wants as we hit September.

Wiz has to see this spider. One of the biggest ones ever seen.

Last night in my friends dad's car I noticed a baby spider crawling on the console between the drivers and passenger's seat and followed it with my eyes b/c it was coming close.  All of a sudden I see another spider, a bit bigger crawling up my pants legs.  Led me to believe there is a nest in the car.  I was so freaked out.

Had a pretty sweet view from Squam Lake as the storm rolled in yesterday.

I love New England for its diversity all year round. NNE and its beauty of lakes, mountains ,snow, skiing winter sports, its fall beauty, SNE for its oceans of fun, raw power untamed thrills, beautiful lakes and fall beauty of its own. I am blessed to be able, within a couple of hours ride , experience it all.

Have to see how strong the ridging is along with other details but could be potential for a pretty decent severe weather event next week...right now would look to be central/upstate NY into northern New England but pretty decent synoptic setup for what will be early September.

Must be one of those Bill James projections..lol Thank god he didn't go into the meteorology field!
