Late-summer may be the one time of the year we'll see Ginxy embrace warmer than normal weather ;).  Honestly, can't really think of a better time of year for it though...its not like its going to snow in September, and it cools off quickly at night usually.

I like warmth despise HHH though, warmth is great but right now until Mid Sept its the best

I'll never for the life of me understand why folks want heat in Sept which is out of season. Why wouldn't you want it in the true summer instead of autumn?

It loses it's bite in the fall. I'm not so much opposed to heat but humidity. In September you're more likely to get 88/56 or something when in July that's 88/66 or something. Less daylight also means the night cools off quicker for better sleeping.

For me it's similar in the winter with cold...I'd rather have the cold air masses in March or November rather than January for some reason. We get more snow chances that way. January is cold enough as it is.

But mostly summer to me is warm enough even at a -1 or -2 departure...September above normal just isn't the same as July above normal. And September isn't going to snow so it might as well be nice. We'll still have 8 weeks to look forward to clouds and cool temperatures prior to real winter.

Always cool when doing cleanups to find blasts from the past. In the early 90s I was a wx observer in Ashaway RI, belonged to a group called RIBCON, RI Bristol County Observation Network, we had a monthly newsletter and met annually. I kept all my records and came upon the boxes of newsletters, reports, and some AFDs I had printed out on my MAC 2, damn should have bought stock then, anyways great memories .

I don"t think so now that I remember, he worked at Box that was a NYC product,

I found it Hunchie it was K Reynolds. Man I radiated well in Ashaway, had lots of days mid 40s late August pretty often. Bottom of a hill Sandy soil, pine trees. Near Wood River Junction which held the State unofficial low temp record at one time. Only about 7 miles inland from the coast, nice microclimate there. Similar to the pine barrens on LI.

40s in RI in August 7 miles inland is impressive

Do they keep AFDs archived for public viewing?
