Ginx snewx
Normals from Aug 1 on... BDL 4.8 BDR 2.0 BOS 3.3 PVD 2.9 ORH 0.6 As for how the number reduces, August 18th is really the day for BDL where the odds of a 90-degree day begins to quickly drop. The probability of a 90-degree day is about 1-in-5 from July 5th through August 17th, and then by August 23rd, it drops to 1-in-15. if Ens are correct the 80% chance of no 90 wins for the next 15 days
CoastalWx
Daily fluctuations aside, it resembles July with an overall ridge west, trough east look. Maybe a few things shift around to make it warmer in the east..but that's the overall look.
Baroclinic Zone
thanks, ice coffee and lunch? There is a Dunkin Donuts accross the street fromt the Ice Cream (Amaros) place. It's inside a Sunoco station. As for lunch, there are quite a few places to go, If you head up to Rt 44 from the Sunoco gas station there and there are a few, Stoneforge would be my pick. It's right next to the Walmart. Then there are all the chain restaurants. Applebee's, Longhorn, Friendly's, Chili's, 99. Or you can head over to Rt 140 from the field and there are more chains there, Unos, Friday's, Smokey Bones, Olive Garden.

CoastalWx
Back to a soaker on the euro tomorrow. That's what happens in the summer when models are at the mercy of no good advection scenarios and lack of baroclinicity.
IsentropicLift
Back to a soaker on the euro tomorrow. That's what happens in the summer when models are at the mercy of no good advection scenarios and lack of baroclinicity. The models that are further east seem to be putting too much focus on the southernmost shortwave, in a way that robs the moisture onshore and dumps over the fish. Congrats Euro ensembles again. Nittany88
WTF, Phil tweeted this If its steady rain like the Euro, its possible. Although with dew points in the 60's, the temps would be in the 60's instead of upper 50s.

powderfreak
WTF, Phil tweeted this If you are under heavy rain like that it's probably possible to be low 60s. I was surprised whenwe had t-storm the other day that the temp could dynamically cool to 57-58F at 2pm. If the ECM is right with the rain, going to be a cool day. snowman21
BDL averages 1.2 days in August with highs <70, so if it does happen it's not that unusual. We seem to get at least one of these days every August with thick clouds, some rain or drizzle, and a stiff wind off cooler waters to the east. On 8/10/1962, BDL had a 59/55 day with an inch of rain. The August record min high temp is 57 set back on 8/31/1911 which featured a low of 53 and 1.22 inches of rain.
