TauntonBlizzard2013
only a few days from august at this point. Summer goes by quick, for some not quick enough, others, too quick. One of my selfish reasons for starting this thread is i have a vacation question. I will be heading to acadia national park/ Bar Harbor area in maine. I will be up there next week. could anyone give me an idea of what the weather may look like for that time frame? TIA
Baroclinic Zone
Could be a wet start to August if some of the global modeling pans out. Nice tropical
SouthCoastMA
It goes by too quick. 6 months of summer followed by 6 months of winter in a perfect world. With the persistent troughing coming down from Canada, wouldn't be surprised if we have a tropical system passing close by in August.

Kind of pattern that is like 75-80 with dews 65-70 much of the time.. And days with rain say 71/
Brian5671
The other thing about August is the noticeable decline in sunset times. It really becomes evident after the 1st week and by end of the month, the sun is going down almost an hour earlier than on June 21st

After rains this weekend and warm front pushes west of us. It's evolving as models resolve pattern with Bertha

powderfreak
First week or so looks warm, humid and at times wet. Them all eyes turn to Bertha and will it run east coast? Well warm is a relative term this time of year...it's always "warm" out. You mean above normal temps the first week? You know what's going to happen is the moment you flip your posting style and internal switch to "cold" this fall, then the torch will come with record heat. Then you'll get your +20 departures. Typhoon Tip
Same old song and dance through mid August on the ensembles. Ridge west, trough east. I'm not seeing any particular reason to break persistence, no... Beginning to believe we'll need to turn the roulette wheel during seasonal migration S of colder heights before we find a new paradigm. Not saying it won't get hot from time to time, but the theme for this summer is not a hot summer, period. Regardless of the modest positive bias accruing -- which is an interesting way to run an above normal summer. This one just doesn't carry the appeal of the heated times of recent years.
