With the same pattern in place today(MCS blows up in NE, eastern Iowa gets the weakening remnants the following morning) I was fortunate to get 0.37" of rain, which puts me at 1.05" for August.  Totals dropped off to nothing north and east of CR.  Heavier stuff continues to fall across southeast Iowa through the Quad Cities.  Otherwise, it has been another cloudy and cool day.  Our sunshine % over the last two weeks has to be very low.  The clouds and moderate temps this month have allowed the lawns to remain in better shape than a year ago, despite a similar lack of rain.

Lake Michigan, Huron, and Erie temperatures.

It will be interesting to see how quickly the lakes cool down this Autumn.

Considering these are surface temperatures and the sub surface temperatures are pretty low, I think a good storm and a cold snap will cool them quickly especially Huron and Michigan.

Yeah that's a real good point. First Autumn storm will probably go to work and mix/upwell the colder waters.

Another cloudy morning with storms approaching.

You'll like this...Chad is saying potentially several days of 90s prior to September 10.

Remember when you bought this hook, line, and sinker?

But any flunky could look at the ensembles/pattern and know it's going to run warm/hot for the next week or two. :sleepy:

Nice little cell popping on Kenosha right now. Lightning has been great--good thunder with a downpour

I was just about to say... it looks like a good cell down there. Moderate rain with no thunder in Racine.

Yet another day of measurable rain!

Right along the border and the south side of Kenosha is really getting nailed. New cell forming west of Antioch.
