Tim from Springfield (IL)
Hard to believe that this Friday will be the start of August--although in parts of the subforum it will feel more like the first of September. ILX currently is predicting 81 for a high on both Friday and Saturday here in Springfield (and only "warming up" to 82 for Sunday and 84 on Monday at this time). Stebo
Until the warming in the Northern Pacific has a wholesale change expect the same, this includes going into the winter.
nwburbschaser
Are we finally going to see a more traditional summer pattern come mid August? GFS/Euro long range are definitely hinting at some sustained warmth.
Powerball
At least the beginning of the month will be relatively Summer-like.
Gilbertfly
Nice low key thunder showers this morning....had some nice early morning rips of thunder too from the line just south of me that sounded nice and clean with no clouds or urban noise in the path
Geos
About 62° for a low this morning. Sunny out for the first morning of August. Little haze in the air, but not like yesterday. Should have no problem getting up to yesterdays temp.

Chitown Storm
Pulses firing all over LOT. Some of these cells contain very vivid and frequent CG strikes. Huge towers up all over the area.
cyclone77
Picked up 0.05" of rain early this morning from some decaying showers that drifted in. Hit a little micro downpour on the way home from work awhile ago. Blue sky in all directions with the sun out. Was pretty cool. Temp dropped to 70 in the shower, and jumped back up to 82 just up the road.

Buckeye05
In the Brookfield, WI area currently. Just had one of the heaviest thunderstorms I've seen in a long time. Very green, low visibility, and lots of small hail.
Chicago WX
Some hail accumulation. Also, there's a fairly "major" local 4 lane road underneath that water. Sweet. Photo looks like it's from the westside on Sagamore Pkwy/52. Chitown Storm
Question for Chicago is, can the stuff moving from WI hold together? Might be interesting with all the boundaries laying around.

Buckeye05
Driving through Milwaukee suburbs. Hail accumulated against fence lines and flower beds. Lots of leaves stripped off of trees and stuck against roads and buildings.

Chicago WX
Don't see hail accumulate like this around here very often. Nothing spectacular, but still kinda cool. Some more photos: http://interactives.wlfi.com/photomojo/gallery/13522/252502/photos-august-1-hail-storm/untitled-photo/ Going by #s 4, 8, and 9...the winter season frozen tally has begun. Very green, low visibility, and lots of small hail. Had one of the better t'storms I've seen this year (and there's been a lot of them) when I was in Bayside today. Really cool evolution of the storms with a combined lake breeze/shortwave kick. A storm formed in SE Milwaukee County and almost appeared to move NW as numerous other storms along the boundary fired and moved S/SE.
