Cypress
I hope it's ok to post this here, if not my apologies in advance http://www.cyclonejim.com/biography.htm http://www.youtube.com/user/cyclonejimcom Some of you may not have heard that Jim Leonard has terminal cancer. He needs help financially and a link at the following website has been set up to sell Jim Leonard T shirts for his benefit: http://www.skiesovertheplains.com/ He's one of the originals and I wish him and his family well, they could use our help. ct_yankee
That's really terrible news, I had no idea. I've chased with Jim, in fact I was a driver for one season ('04) for his tour group, an experience I'll always be grateful for having. Jim taught me most of what I know about chasing and forecasting. But we haven't kept in touch, and I had no idea he was sick. Jim is and always will be one of storm chasing's all-time greats, a legend indeed. This is very sad news.
brettjrob
Absolutely a legend, and this is so unfortunate. His 3 May 1999 footage from the often-overlooked "Storm B" near Ft. Cobb is one of my favorite clips of all time; it was one of a few that inspired me to get more serious about chasing after I arrived at OU.
