SkyOdyssey
The Weather Channel is debuting a new show Weather Geeks this Sunday, 20 July 2014, at noon ET. It will be a weekly talk show hosted by UGA professor and 2013 AMS president J. Marshall Shepherd. It took some convincing to get Shepherd on board and he took a more hands on active role as AMS pres so this program shows some promise in spite of being on the modern TWC. I hope that it's all that Shepherd promises it will be. TWC/Shepherd also convinced Chuck Doswell to be a guest on the debut episode and anyone that knows him or his reputation knows they must have made a positive impression to get him to agree to any media interviews. Shepherd says it'll be oriented to serious aficionados of the weather, for people that want to learn something by tuning in, like TWC was in its first 10-15 years. We'll see. Jim Marusak
hope they make it available to non-cable/satellite subscribers (like me) online after its initial airing. because getting doswell is no easy feat.
SmokeEater
They should have gotten James Spann to host it, being he's done pretty much the exact same show for the last 8 years, lol.
