QUEENS COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...
NEW YORK (MANHATTAN) COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...
BRONX COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...
RICHMOND (STATEN ISLAND) COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...
HUDSON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...

* UNTIL 515 PM EDT

* AT 207 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
TORRENTIAL RAIN FROM THUNDERSTORMS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH
ACROSS THE REGION. THIS RAIN WILL CAUSE FLOODING ON AREA
ROADWAYS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES
AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. FLOOD WATERS ARE
USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS
POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD.

WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN
AROUND...DONT DROWN.

Looks like a pocket of >50kt shear is setting up shop just to our west now :yikes:

im already in that 45kt shear and when these storms clear it will only help the instability as well. got this feeling later on we're in for some wicked severe weather
