EASTERN FREDERICK COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND...  

MONTGOMERY COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND...  

CARROLL COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND...  

HOWARD COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND...  

EASTERN LOUDOUN COUNTY IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA...  

HARFORD COUNTY IN NORTHERN MARYLAND...  

BALTIMORE COUNTY IN NORTHERN MARYLAND...  

NORTHERN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND...  

BALTIMORE CITY IN NORTHERN MARYLAND...

* AT 636 PM EDT...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE DETECTED ALONG A LINE  

EXTENDING FROM TANEYTOWN TO LOWES ISLAND...AND WERE MOVING EAST AT  

45 MPH. THIS LINE OF STORMS IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DESTRUCTIVE  

WINDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH.  

 

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...  

NORTH POTOMAC...  

MOUNT AIRY...  

GERMANTOWN...  

DAMASCUS...  

WESTMINSTER...  

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE...  

GAITHERSBURG...  

ROCKVILLE...  

MANCHESTER...  

SYKESVILLE...  

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  

 

THIS IS A DANGEROUS LINE OF STORMS. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH...PREPARE  

IMMEDIATELY FOR DAMAGING WIND GUSTS...LARGE HAIL AND FREQUENT CLOUD  

TO GROUND LIGHTNING. MOVE INDOORS TO A STURDY BUILDING AND STAY AWAY  

FROM WINDOWS.  

 

THIS LINE OF STORMS HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING WIDESPREAD WIND  

DAMAGE. SEEK SHELTER INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE AND STAY AWAY FROM  

WINDOWS.

0.53" furniture on the deck was moved around quite a bit. The love seat is usually on the N side of the deck and was moved S. And the table got pushed up against the S side of the deck. Glad I laid the chairs down. Power is ok after that initial outage. No trees in the tree line went down, but I am surprised. The kids and I went down to the lower level when everything hit just to be safe. Husband is home was thankfully off of 270 before it hit. He did drive in it though and said the wind was bad.
