The Dude
Windy but just got missed by the main core. Power is nice though. That nasty core of wind weakened quite a bit once it crossed the river.
Sparky
temp down to 69...a ton of water falling from the sky.
StudentOfClimatology
Legitimate microburst here towards the end of the storm. Still have power, surprisingly. That was a comparable to the Derecho..60mph? The winds started out from the SW, then shifted towards the NNW.

AmericanWxFreak
Looks like things might get fun IMBY very soon. Sitting on the porch with a cold one here in Columbia. A fairly constant rumble in the distance. Should be a fun one!
mappy
Rushed out of work, made it to daycare before the onslaught of rain hit. Hanging out for a bit, pouring rain, lots of cloud to ground lightning
StudentOfClimatology
That storm provoked quite an adrenaline rush. Easily the best storm since September, 8, 2012 imby. Will survey a bit later, but looking outside I see a mixture of trash and tree debris (leaves/branches) on my street.
09-10 analogy
Legitimate. Best one this year hands down. Surprised we haven't lost power -- the winds were over 50 and it wasn't just one burst, we had strong winds (although intermittent) for 10-15 minutes or so. I rode it out on top of the CVS in Tenleytown and if my car wasn't being "buffeted" by the winds, it was probably being smorgasborded. That was one omnious sky right before the deluge. AmericanWxFreak
Rain, wind and thunder. Haven't seen any lightning nearby. Can confirm. Based on what I was hearing as it was rolling in I was surprised at the lack of close lightning/lightning at all.
WEATHER53
That was a thunderstorm intensity of 8.5 on scale of 10. 52mph peak gust here but along US Route 1 inside the Beltway in College Park and along University Blvd between 4 Corners and Georgia Ave there are whole trees uprooted and down, one right on a house in CP, and based on my observation experiences those winds were 70 or slightly higher. WxUSAF
Can confirm. Based on what I was hearing as it was rolling in I was surprised at the lack of close lightning/lightning at all. Respectable storm. Nice heavy rain and probably ~40mph winds. Nothing severe and not much lightning.
Sparky
Rain gauge says 0.83 but I know I got more than that. No way the bucket was collecting the rain when it was blowing sideways at the height of the storm. Plus the little bit of hail that fell.

snownut
Nice soaker with some wind and plenty of thunder and lightning, even lost power for an hour, that is unusual here. 1.08 for the day so grass will be back to green in time for one last mowing before taking off. adelphi_sky
I was looking for more rain than wind and hail. Only got 0.26 so far. We'll see what the rest of the evening holds.
WEATHER53
I do not have pictures but getting a lot of whole tree pulled out by roots reports in College Park area as well as some significant structual damage. I ate at that McDonalds right across from the above damage picture around 3pm. These reports and pictures are indicative of wind streaks in 80 and even 90mph range. ThePhotoGuy
Nasty looking sky right before the storms moved through. Winds & rain was minimal. Some close lightning strikes though.
87storms
Torrents here for a good 10-15 minutes near montgomery mall. Didn't get much lightning but it was there. No hail that I saw or heard. A good wind gust knocked out my power. Need to head back soon to see if it's back on. I don't need severe. A good summer rain is enough for me.
