OR 10 MILES NORTHEAST OF DAMASCUS...AND WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25  

MPH.  

 

THIS STORM IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF PING PONG  

BALLS AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.  

 

THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING GOLF BALL SIZED HAIL IN MOUNT  

AIRY.

NWS Mount Holly has started this new format for high impact events. It mirrors the tornado emergency headline format that is available for all NWS offices to use, and the SVR/SVS format change was based on feedback from Emergency Management officials following the June 2012 derecho event.
