Last nite wasn't a radiating night. It was all CAA which is why valleys are warm

Indeed... strong cold advection.

Got down to 58F at home.  I love this weather,  80s during the day.  Bottle this stuff up.

I've only hit 90F twice this summer.  No oppressive heat thus far.

Wind was up all night and blowing now as well. I don't get into 50's with no Caa last nite

HFD in the valley warmer

I agree that you wouldn't probably get into the 50s without CAA but it was a radiating night.  There are more valley locations than just the more urban HFD.  BDL was cooler and had light winds all night (and they are wide open), CEF was 51°.  Even places like TAN got down to 56° off a high in the upper 80s.  Yes you benefited from CAA but it was one of those occasions where the valley's radiated as well.

You asked about ORH and it looks like they got down to 55°.

Yeah for the hilltops to get into the mid 50's in summer, you need NW winds and cooling on CAA. Living here all these yrs without that last night would have stayed 60 ish

Nice radiating night. 51F here and 49F at CON.

About 48 at my place - actually expected a bit lower, as it was down to 56 by 9 last night.  5th sub-50 morning this month; July avg is 7 and I think 7/2014 is done with under-50s, unless things cool off quickly after the Sun-Tues precip.

Spent the day on the rockpile today. Nothing like a mid 30s wind chill in July.

Most of the day was either in or surrounded by clouds. Since they couldn't see any farther than the parking lot, visibility was 1/8SM and FG. Ceilings were around 5,000 feet, so we didn't have to get very far down the Auto Road before the views opened up.

Euro gives you another shot at 40s on the 31st.

47F here, and likewise the 5th minimum in the 40s of the month.

The good radiational conditions last night made for plenty of 40s..with the usual spot 41F at SLK and Lake Placid.

Those are some great shots--thanks for posting.

Spectacular weather today for the normal minded human beings out there

LOL.  Not too spectacular out here today--pretty cloudy the last hour or so, ftl.

for a day with temps in the upper 70s and low humidity, it's remarkably hazy out.  I'd say this part of Vermont is under the smoky haze.

Yeah there's definitely some solid haze in the sky...it appears as though it would be mostly sunny right now but its like a white sky.

There's certainly some haze on the visible satellite image...especially upstate NY into New England.
