At 101, Richard G. Hendrickson, of Bridgehampton, is the world’s oldest weatherman. When he logged his first observation for the U.S. Weather Bureau — now the National Weather Service – Herbert Hoover was president.

Since then, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Hendrickson, a retired dairy and chicken farmer, has filed twice-daily reports, logging more than 150,000 weather observations.

Are we sure this guy doesn't actually live in a fortress of firewood up in the hills of GC?

71.4/59 at 12:30 on a sunny late July day.

Give me a C, give me an O, give me a C.

COC, COC, COC!!!

Talk about a change in airmass...

The torch valley out at BTV had a low temperature of 75F yesterday morning... they may not hit that for a high today.

After not being able to fall lower than the mid-70s at night, to 68/48 at 12pm today with a north wind of 15.

This is like a September airmass right now as dews fall into the 40s.

Above 1,000ft is struggling in the mid-60s and 1,500ft is low 60s.  SLK at 62/49 at noon.

Upper 40s in the higher elevations...

Getting 49F with a 20-25mph NW wind at the picnic tables web cam:

I wonder if the 29th 30th we see some record low maxes in places like NYC EWR, if clouds and precip happens there is a shot, records are 68-71 NYC and 73/74 EWR, current models are near that range

not a chance in hell. lol

Jealous lol

Its leveled off at 50F for the past hour...slow drop of 0.5F per hour over the next 6 hours or so most likely.  Cooling off to the upper 40s in the highlands of eastern VT...gotta love weather in New England, it can go from uncomfortably humid with dew points of 68-70F and temps in the 80s, then you get slammed by a storm and the next evening the temperature is borderline chilly.

Spent the day on the rockpile today. Nothing like a mid 30s wind chill in July.

Most of the day was either in or surrounded by clouds. Since they couldn't see any farther than the parking lot, visibility was 1/8SM and FG. Ceilings were around 5,000 feet, so we didn't have to get very far down the Auto Road before the views opened up.
