Brian5671
Funny how this time last year we were having one of our hottest stretches of the summer. I believe it was 100 at ewr a couple days in a row we were in the low to mid 90's here almost every day from 7/1 to 7/22....and then it broke and it's been the same pattern for almost a year now.... ORH_wxman
Best day for lots of 90+ in the lowlands is probably next Wednesday. Highlands like ORH won't get there with that airmass. Need to add about 3-4C to the 850 temps. The real heat remains locked in the southwest US ridge. Only a modified piece tries to escape. Ensembles are pretty bullish on another deep trough digigng into the midwest/eastern U.S. in the longrange 7-10d. Boring...counting down until October. Hopefully when that rubber band snaps we can get back to below normal. This is the third month in a row of above normal temps.

RUNNAWAYICEBERG
Meh, probably gives us highs around 80 and lows in the mid 60's. Pretty much par for what this summer has offered to date. Referring more to the mid and upper levels with a big slow moving rotating low in se canada. I think that's kind of rare for July, ain't it? dendrite
Yes. But our 500 mb pattern with winter wavelengths wouldn't suck. I'll take the big western ridge with longer wavelengths.
ORH_wxman
I'll take the big western ridge with longer wavelengths. It would probably be a pretty cold pattern even in a month like May or even early June...but July has such washed out sfc gradients that its the type of pattern where we get 1-2 humid days and then 3 days like we just had...rinse and repeat. But yeah, even in spring/fall/winter, we'd probably be getting a lot of CAD with a lakes trough.

TauntonBlizzard2013
personally, as someone who is always hot. I don't think I could live without AC. At least without heat, there are ways to stay warm. Now if lack of heat included the lack of hot water..that would be a different story. This.
radarman
Was definitely humid here today, dews at CEF hit 64 and a bit further up the valley it was between 65-67 (UMass hit 68.5, but I'm tossing despite it's lack of foliage). Considering the temps were only middle 70s the day has had a wet, uncomfortable feel. Not really great for much outdoor activity, bug weather. Not a dry day though, fog low clouds, worst weekend of the summer.
