mreaves
Correct...I think it would lose some of its allure if it was available at every Mobil Mart in the northeast. Its like a game to try and find it for those craft beer fans. Its still a pretty darn good beer though.Ironically, it is available in several Mobil Marts around her LOL. I'm not an IPA guy either. I like lagers for the most part though I do enjoy a Switchback occasionally.
radarman
Disagree about the exclusivity factor and I say that drinking my last one right now. It's heaven. Haven't had Pliny yet, but someday soon hopefully and we can have a worthy contest. At any rate it's not as if you need a reason to make a trip up to the MRV or Stowe, but if you're up there you'd be remiss not to poke your head in a few general stores and ask the clerk politely. Often they hide it.

RUNNAWAYICEBERG
Who here drinks Guinness? You're disgusting. Guilty. It's just that I'd rather drink 1 beer of dark flavorful goodness then piss out a 6 pack of whatever. I hate getting drunk.

powderfreak
U guys make it sound like liquid molly. And if you believe the Rolling Stone article, its easier to get heroin here in VT than Heady Toppers.
CT Rain
Its magical. It actually changes taste as you go thru the can. You can't drink more than 3-4 in a night or you're done lol
Nittany88
Right? I mean do only VT packies stock this stuff? Supply is very low in contrast to the demand. Started in Waterbury in 2003 at the Alchemist Pub & Brewery where they brewed several beers only available on tap. However it was totally wiped off the map during Irene. Luckily they had opened a cannery up the road where they canned only their Heady Topper beer (2011-present). They are only running out of that facility now. Although as Powderfreak said, they're planning on expanding. http://alchemistbeer.com/
HIPPYVALLEY
See Kev's description... except if you don't look like a city slicker they'll let you buy more than a 4 pack. Eh' HT is pretty good but Kev is using the salesman pitch to try and pants tent the beer geeks. If he was in the beer sales bidness he would have access to much more exclusive beers. moneypitmike
As I awoke I heard from a nearby location...., COC-a-doodle-doo!!! The return to COC--the way that summers are meant to be. Heading to DC this evening for a little sightseeing with the family. I don't think there could be a better stretch of weather in DC for the second half of July. I had been anticipating awful heat and humidity. Instead, it will be typical Mt. Tolland weather COC the DC way. 56.2/52 off a low of 55.6. A good shawl-type morning. Damage In Tolland
What is so special about it? Is it an IPA? I'm sure ryan will be glad to get you 4 pack while he's up there and ship it UPS to you. Or PF could prob score you a case and ship it to you(on him)..Just ask them
Damage In Tolland
Haha, I know where you are talking about...the covered bridge dirt road there? I actually live a couple miles down the Mountain Road closer to town. I wish I lived up there, that extra distance closer to Mansfield probably gives another 15-20" of annual snowfall even though the elevation is only 100ft higher. You get like 10" more annually per mile regardless of elevation as you get closer to the mountain (from like 120" in town to 170" base of the resort). Where I'm at, there's the Edelweiss Deli and Store (quite possibly the most expensive convenience store in the United States) on one side of the road, and Darkside Snowboards on the other side... I'm in that area. Anyway, another nice evening for a run on the Rec Path through town. 64/58. July16.jpg All I know is the guy that looks like Uncle Jessie from the Dukes of Hazard at the State liquor store across from Piecasso that we went to everyday..was a tool..and was a jerk about it. Not just to us...but to all the hippies in flannels and long hair that were buying it. Almost every person had a 4 pack in line

It's about tolerance and a lot of alcoholics are not necessarily the largest folks around. I'm a larger guy and I bet you could drink more than me (if I drank).
