No sweaty Pony'o's this weekend up there..just long and dry People are taking those back to Boston and NY and selling for like $15/$20 per can. It'll be easier to get once they build their new brewery about a half mile from my door.

Damage In Tolland
Never heard of that stuff. Sounds tasty. You can only buy one 4 pack per person at package store and they limit you to 2 at a restaurant. It's 8% They only sell it within a 30 mile radius of Stowe/Burlington. And it's only sold at a few select locales. We didn't know and brought a case up to the counter and the guy looked at us like we were drunk and told us to put them back. I've had it at bars though where they'll give you as many as you want as long as they're well stocked. I've also been to bars that have refused to serve it because they're saving it for "people who have reserved it". Have fun up there. New liver awaits when you get back. I know. I took Monday off from work just to make sure I have a day if needed to get myself back in working order.

powderfreak
So basically go in the store with a Ben and Jerry's t-shirt on and a Pony-O. Got it. lol you guys crack me up...no, it depends on the store you go to. Some will let you buy cases, others will only let you get a 4-pack or two 4-packs. Its not the brewer's rules, its just depends on store to store. There are several facebook groups that monitor its delivery and availability...people will actually wait for the delivery truck to show up at stores. I've met people in Stowe who will drive around all day following the schedule just to pick up cases of the stuff...like hit up a store in Waitsfield near Mad River Glen, then one in Waterbury, then one in Stowe. Its called the RT 100 beer route up the east slope of the Greens, haha.
mreaves
I don't like Heddy Topper personally but it's nice to know the #1 rated beer in the world is brewed just up the road. Craft brewing is becoming quite an industry up here. Just about every place that serves beer has some sort of local brew on tap. As for selling Heddy Topper on the side, there was an attorney up here who got busted trying to sell a case on Craigslist. The State Liquor Control Dept. busted her for not having a liquor license. I be the firm she works for loved that.

Not too far from innsbruck right? Haha, I know where you are talking about...the covered bridge dirt road there? I actually live a couple miles down the Mountain Road closer to town. I wish I lived up there, that extra distance closer to Mansfield probably gives another 15-20" of annual snowfall even though the elevation is only 100ft higher. You get like 10" more annually per mile regardless of elevation as you get closer to the mountain (from like 120" in town to 170" base of the resort). Where I'm at, there's the Edelweiss Deli and Store (quite possibly the most expensive convenience store in the United States) on one side of the road, and Darkside Snowboards on the other side... I'm in that area. Anyway, another nice evening for a run on the Rec Path through town. 64/58.

powderfreak
What is so special about it? Is it an IPA? Its a double IPA... it is tasty and has a cult following. Its been the number 1 beer on Beeradvocate.com or something like that for a while, which is apparently a very big deal. Its hard to describe. I personally like the Shed Mountain Ale more, which is also a Stowe beer...I drink a fair amount of that. But I'm more of a double ale fan rather than an IPA guy. This area (from Morrisville south to Warren and west to BTV) has a ridiculous amount of micro-brews though...the state in general is home to some amazing craft beers. powderfreak
Half the reason people think its so good is because of the exclusivity factor, IMO Correct...I think it would lose some of its allure if it was available at every Mobil Mart in the northeast. Its like a game to try and find it for those craft beer fans. Its still a pretty darn good beer though.
