So can a met or a more knowledgeable novice tell me if the upcoming deep trough is nao driven, say like July 2009? Or are we still dealing with the EPO?

You have a big ridge out in western Canada and ridging as well in the Davis Straits. What is likely happening is that the ridge in western Canada is being aided by what I described several posts back, so that a piece of the PV dives right into the Great lakes.

that's impressive for Mid July.   As others have posted, hopefully we can cash in with some storms...seems warm just off the coast too-wonder if the battleground will deliver some good rains

Dews still mid 60s in AUG, but the clear blue sky portends better air incoming.

Its coming... mid-50s dews here, puffy cumulus, and deep blue sky with a solid breeze.  Feels amazing...classic warm humid day, followed by storms, followed by breezy 70s/50s airmass.

Kevin reeling after getting that head slap.

I don't agree with or think they proved anything one way or the other..but I just figured I'd let sleeping dogs lie .No sense arguing ones viewpoints on here. It just leads to trouble.

Enjoying the last day of dews until late Saturday/Sunday..and hopefully a storm this evening

Ryan just showed the dew trends over the next 7 days on air.

59-60 tomorrow and 63-64 Fri and all weekend and 72 Mon/tues next week.

This airmass coming in over the weekend certainly isn't dry. Just not oppressive..just normal humid. No business organization wx there

Keep the Charmin close by

Dude a dew of 72 is most certainly oppressive.....of course to this native west coast guy a dew of 60 is oppressive so there's that....lol

This weekend looks drier further north and east. We've been lucky this season to avoid true swamp for days like last year. I think BOS has had one day with dew points above 70? Sure mid to upper 60s is humid, but it's tolerable. So far a very manageable summer. Absolutely nothing like last year.

I'd gladly trade sweet weekends of sunny and dry over the weekends in the summer for snowy weekends in the winter.....lol....seems so far off

It's not too far off.  We're about 3 weeks from August.  Some unlucky kids (happy  parents) will be going to back to school in 7 weeks.

Summer's been an easy one so far.  So, whatever heat/humidity combos we get, they're days will be numbered.

Really dark sky from the cell in VT.

In 90 days we can see pics of Powderfreak lying on his picnic tables at 3K

Haha it can happen as early as the first week of September...just need that first shot of sub 0C air at 850mb. But 90 days from now would be closer to the climo norm of mid-October when you can more start to seriously entertain the idea of upper elevation snows.
