Isotherm
Sea breeze front has stabilized the lower atmosphere and thus cleared out clouds here. I'm now up to 91F on a south wind.

jm1220
NYC just dropped to 88 and EWR is 89 at 1pm. I don't see any official 90 reported for those stations yet. I think NYC yet again will top out at 89. Now that the seabreeze front is through the entire city, it's hard to see anymore heating.

Drz1111
There is a tower going up west of me on the seabreeze front, and the updraft is so vigorous that you can easily see the tower growing up with your eyes in real time. But no sign of shear; it couldn't be more vertical.

Weathergun
i think the sea breeze is giving up some ground... hence ewr's temp rise I think so too. LDJ is now at 95 with a SSE wind at 8mph. Last hour, the wind was gusting to 17mph out of the SE. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobext.php?sid=KLDJ

The wind is less direct off the water where you are in NJ compared to here though. Only 84.6 here.
NEXtreme
Boston and NYC both finally join the 90's club today! It's the latest in 16 years for Boston and 29 years for NYC.
jm1220
Finally hit 91 at Central Park. Today is the first day I'd rate as absolutely atrocious outside. Heat index near 100, airmass like a bus exhaust-choked sauna. It's a Florida/Gulf Coast type airmass, that's for sure. Sweat forms literally the second you walk outside. REDMK6GLI
Going to be some impressive rainfall totals from those storms in PA/NY/NJ when all is said and done today. Hopefully we can get some nice thunderstorms down in suffolk county tommorow since today actions looks confined well N&W of the area today
HailMan06
Boston and NYC both finally join the 90's club today! Sundog
Yet we've been above average for the months of May and June. If every day is a few degrees above normal then you don't need big heat to make positive departures.
Snow_Miser
Everything's to the N&W and I don't see much development around here. There are good reasons why the SPC put out a STW for most of the CWA.
WE GOT HIM
There are good reasons why the SPC put out a STW for most of the CWA. We will see, the HRRR is looking less and less impressive each run. It pops up some storms along the sea breeze but most of those miss the city anyway.
Brian5671
Looks like a big miss unless you're well North and west of NYC-all the triggers are up there-looks like we're still capped down towards the coast.
NYC Weather Lover
Uggh, the spc made me a little hopeful for some severe action... But I guess not...just another day of watching crazy severe weather to the north and west, while I get nothing but sun and clouds here on Long Island...
