Storms firing again today out to the west around the upper savannah river valley.  They look to be heading east and if they hold together may reach mby in a few hours.  It's been close to a couple weeks since we had a nice rain event.  We have had a couple nickle and dimers though.

I can't even remember the last time it rained here. Sometime in June I believe. Grass is dying and looks horrible. They say our rain chances will increase the next two days, but I doubt we get more than 1/4".

lol  June was 8 days ago.  You make it sound like it hasn't rained in a year.  My total for July is 0.03.  It happens, a lot.

Still 89 , even after a storm earlier! What are the chances that line of storms makes it together intact out of the mountains? I give it 10%

Man , you are good! Whole line went poof about 10 miles away! Tomorrow there is a 60% chance of rain, what could go wrong with that forecast?

83 and cloudy and dry! :(

If Robert at WXsouth is right that 60% chance for tomorrow will bust. He says downsloping should keep our area mosty dry.

We actually got quite a heavy shower 2 days ago in Lexington, SC... of course not being forecast.

It's ridiculously dry around these parts... I have some various veggies trying to grow... and even with watering every day.. their growth is stunted and won't produce fruit.. and if some fruit does come out, it won't get any bigger than a couple half-dollars.  It's really bad.

Today's forecast is for sporadic showers around.. which I don't have much hope in... the front stalling over the carolinas seems a lot more likely for parts of Northern GA, SC, and NC than others.

Another 60+% chance of rainfall in the NW piedmont and another complete fail.  Lots of models were printing out convection this afternoon for my area, and they've all been wrong.  This NW flow is for the birds...

And, sparklecity is right.  Charlotte is once again enjoying nice showers this afternoon.  The ticket this summer is to be generally east of I-77.  (And, yes, I know the weather can't read road signs.)  This summer's rainfall patterns are nothing like last summer's.

78° right now in eastern Burke County, NC with light winds. I went and played a round of golf today, and it was really really dry at the course I went and played. We are in need of rain, and it looks like there is a line of storms trying to make it over the mountains. I hope they are able to survive, because we really need some rain.

0.00.  No rain here since 6/29.  If we don't get any in the next couple days things are going to turn brown and crunchy even more.  Had storms a few miles to the north and south today.  GSP says CIN is building in tonight so not much of a chance of any rainfall from that batch in the mountains.  Makes sense because it appears it has put on the brakes at the SC/NC border.

Well, it appears you got your wish, Jordan.  I got 0.20 inch of rain out of that decaying line of storms during the time period from 12:30 - 1:30 AM.  I'm pretty sure you would've picked up rain in Hildebran then, too.

I did get some rain out of the storms as they moved over the area, I ended up with .32 of an inch of rain. I would have liked to pick up around an inch; however, I will take anything I can get.

.07" yesterday, and almost a trace this morning. I hope any storms this afternoon hold off until late in the day. It's not easy taking the wheelchair-bound wife to a doctor's appointment in torrential rain. Appointment is at 3:15 in Smithfield.
