I still think we'll end up above normal for July and +1 to +2 for JJA. It does seem a bit odd that we've been in a warm humid period yet not really seeing much rain.

You can thank the blocking for that. Backdoor fronts have helped to stabalize us and systems have been traveling either north or south of us when do they do reach the coast. I have a feeling our time is coming. We're well overdue for an extended wet period.

That article isn't about Reval. And Harrah's owns Showboat. That company owns dozens of properties all over the country.

Revel is most likely going to close. My friend's parents know the management there. Alot of these hotels arent making out for sone reason.

A few reasons come to mind. In spite of what the mainstream media might tell you, the economy hasn't fully recovered yet from the last recession. People don't have as much disposible income these days. You also now have places like Empire City, The Sands in PA and Mt. Airey. All three of those locations are closer to NYC than AC.

It tried to be a high end resort instead of catering to the AC crowd...consistently finished near the bottom in revenue. I stayed there and it was nice but I'm also not a gambling/buffet kinda guy

The NJ state gov't despite losing its request for an appeal to the US Supreme Court for legalized sports gambling plans to go ahead anyway and legalize it on the state level this September. If they were smart they would restrict it to properties within the confines of Atlantic City. The State can not afford to lose the tax revenue that the Atlantic City casinos generate. As of now they plan to allow it at Monmouth park and Atlantic City only, but a proposal has been made to turn Zanido into a casino.

Atlantic City isn't really a family destination. They have free beaches which are nice but the gambling and the night life are adult only. I agree with you and feel as if Reval targeted the wrong population group.

The economy is going to spiral downwards again within the next 3 years

From some of the information I've received sounds like we take a dive this coming Autumn.

Autumn ? How about the 1st quarter GDP being off 2.9 perc " due to the weather " .

Only reason the equities markets went up in last 2 years was because the fed bought 100 mill in bond buying program every month keeping rates pinned at ( excuse me after 2 yrs finally tapered to 60 mill a month . ) Otherwise the unemployments rate is only lower as more pp dropped out of the labor force than went back to work .

Housing still a bust. The Velocity of money slowed and

When you increase taxes you wreck growth .

When pp have less capital to invest growth grinds to a halt .

Don't fret. I'm sure there are shovel ready projects right around the corner.

It's also a dump.
